    Default Domain status null?

Went from pending delete to this?

I don't want to poke at it in case it hasen't dropped completely yet,I don't want to raise any red flags.

    What does this mean?

    I think i'm getting paranoid

You are now chatting with Christine Mickus (Customer Service Representative) - DomainDiscover

11:07tj: Hey, just wondering what null status on a domain means
    11:10tj: hello?

    11:15Christine Mickus: Thanks for waiting.
11:15Christine Mickus: What domain name are you referring to, please?

    11:15tj: It dosent matter
11:15tj: what does the null status mean
11:15tj: it went from pending delete to null

11:16Christine Mickus: It depends on the domain name, I'm sorry. I can take a look if I know the domain?
11:16tj: you dont need to know the domain to tell me what one of your companies domain satusus mean...
11:17tj: let me help you solve this, you understand what "pending delete" means right?

11:17Christine Mickus: I'm not really familiar with a status of "null", however, so to be of more assistance, I could look up information on the specific domain?
11:18Christine Mickus: Yes, I understand "pending delete".

11:18tj: ok so whats the next step of a domains life after "pending delete"
11:19Christine Mickus: A domain could be picked up by a reseller, be placed on the open market, or the registry just might change the status to "delete".
    11:19Christine Mickus: It really depends.

11:19tj: Well considering the domain is still on your servers, i doubt it
11:20Christine Mickus: I'm really sorry, but I can't be more specific without knowing the domain name.
11:20tj: it's still registered to you guys, is it safe to say its in null status because its being deleted in the next 48 hours or being transfered?
11:20tj: im not even asking a question about a specific domain name
11:20tj: you guys have thousands, apply my question to all of them

11:21Christine Mickus: I'm sorry, I'm not really familiar with a status of "null".
11:21tj: you should ask your boss
11:21Christine Mickus: I cannot give more information without knowing the domain name, and they will ask the same.
    11:21tj: ok
    11:21tj: the domain name is
    11:22tj: www.yourafuckingmoron.com
11:22tj: whats the status of that

it really may depend on the domain. evidently that error code is rather rare.

If it is a really high end domain it may be kept locked down at icann level so it wont become free for registration

like a one or two char .com or something

null is also what an empty field in a mysql table is

Maybe something just fucked up and the record did not get completely deleted? If thats the case your going to have to tell them the domain so their techs can clear it out.

This may be stupid but have you tried regging the domain through the site that it was reg'd with before?

    also alternative whois results?

Also you can play dumb and call like godaddy and say you are having trouble getting a domain and they may be able to shed light on that error

I have tried through the current registrar. No dice unavailable for months.

Different whois = Domain Status:On-hold (redemption Period)

My bad, Just scared to type the domain in too many places.
I've read sites like godaddy sell inquiry lists (anything in there domain searchbar) and i'm assuming other companies do do.
I've also read backordering/ inquiry's on domains catches the attention of asshats that try to pump up the price by dragging you into a bidding war and/or bringing attention so a desirable domain that otherwise slipped through the nets.
